This was almost 10 years ago; digital cameras and digital projection have come a long way since then. I wonder if he still feels the same way (I suspect that he does).

However, like you said — this was almost a decade ago, and a lot has happened to digital in those years. Right now, I think we're at a point where some movies can benefit from being done digitally, and others would be done a great injustice if not shot and shown in the film medium.
In five years, we may be at a place where our understanding of the digital medium is good enough that it can compete fully with film, though, IMO.
so i guess what i'm saying is with greater tech innovations, i disagree with him about the method of shooting a subject, but agree with him completely about the method of projection and its memorizing abilities.

And I was skeptical about digital projection, but after seeing a few films projected that way I'm sold. It's always in perfect focus (I guess it's calibrated digitally, unlike a film projector, though I'm not sure about that), and of course there's no scratches or reel changes.
